Standing seam roofs London
Standing seam roofs, formed properly, for London buildings.
Metalico is a specialist crew for zinc, copper, aluminium and GreenCoat PLX — not a general roofing firm covering plots. London is the core; the southern counties follow.

Why zinc
A living surface that will still be there in a hundred years.
Zinc is the honest answer on new London houses, rear extensions and older property alike: long life, self-protecting patina, fully recyclable, and quiet in the street. VMZINC, elZinc and NedZinc are the systems Metalico specifies and installs.
- 80–100 year design life when the build-up is correct — most failures start under the sheet, not on it.
- Works as roof and as façade. One metal, one language, from eaves to cill.
- Pre-weathered finishes or natural mill that earns its grey. No paint cycle.

Standing seam roofs London
Clean lines, concealed fixings, a watertight seam when formed properly.
Standing seam is the system behind most of the zinc roofs people search for in London: parallel raised joints, hidden fasteners, and a finish that holds on low pitches that punish a poor detail. Metalico fabricates panels to the building and closes the seams on site.
The same language works as vertical cladding. Roof and wall can read as one envelope.

Copper
Nordic Copper and KME for bay tops, dormers, feature roofs and full coverings. Bright at first, then a patina that becomes part of the architecture.

Heritage hard metal
Traditional welts, rolls and junctions for older London buildings. Where a modern seam is wrong, the like-for-like detail is formed instead.
How a Metalico job runs
The person who prices the job is close to the person who forms the seam.
- 01
Consultation and survey
Project parameters, material and a budget range before a site visit. Then measurements, photographs of junctions, and an honest note on anything that should change.
- 02
Detail and price
A written specification and a fixed quotation. On architect-led jobs Metalico works to the drawing and flags anything that would void a manufacturer warranty.
- 03
Fabricate and install
Panels cut and formed for the building, not forced to fit. Seams and junctions closed on site. No bead of sealant hoping for the best.
- 04
Handover
Final inspection, workmanship paperwork after final payment, and the same number to call if something needs correcting.

Questions
Before you send the photos.
How long does a zinc roof last in London?
A well-detailed zinc roof is commonly expected to serve 80–100 years. That only holds if the substrate is designed and built as a closed system — vapour control, ventilation and structure working together, not just a sheet on top.
What is standing seam roofing?
Raised, interlocking seams with concealed fixings. Clean parallel lines, a watertight joint when formed properly, and a finish that works on low-pitch roofs and vertical cladding. Metalico fabricates and installs it in zinc, copper, coated steel and aluminium.
Can you work on listed or heritage buildings?
Yes. Heritage hard metal is a core forte. A modern standing-seam system is right on some buildings; a traditional batten-cap or welted detail is the honest like-for-like on others. The team also replicates ornate copper work.
Do you only work in London?
London is the core. Sussex, Kent, Essex, Surrey and other home counties are undertaken, and further south where the project justifies the travel. Send the postcode with the enquiry.
What guarantee do I get?
Manufacturer system warranties typically 25–50 years where the specification allows it, plus a 10-year workmanship guarantee. 15–20 years on full build-up construction. Details that would void the manufacturer paperwork are not installed.
